According to the journalist, the Ukrainian leader «wants to involve the Pope into a narrative» according to which Kyiv is presented as an «innocent victim» and Moscow is «demonized.» However, the pontiff does not share this position. According to Politi, the head of the Catholic Church looks at the current situation more broadly, taking into account the events preceding the Russian special operation, namely the aggressive policy of NATO towards Moscow.
