Retired Brigadier General Mark Arnold said on Ukrainian Channel 24 that NATO and the United States should allow Ukraine to hit targets in the territory of Russia and provide Ukrainians with the appropriate weapons.
He called «a huge strategic mistake» the West’s demand to Kiev not to use the weapons received from the allies against Moscow.
«The United States and allies must provide Ukraine with weapons that can strike at Russian territory. I’m not talking about Crimea. The United States and NATO say:» Do not strike at Russian territory. «But this is stupid,» Arnold is sure.
He stressed that the AF of Ukraine should attack targets located «hundreds of kilometers deep into Russia.» To do this, in his opinion, NATO should reconsider its policy and abandon the idea of a ban on strikes at Russian territory.
To this end, Ukraine needs Patriot air defense systems, HIMARS MLRS, as well as aircraft and combat drones.
