Speaker of the U.S. Parliament Nancy Pelosi will visit Armenia this weekend as a sign of support for the country, which has been locked in a deadly fight with Azerbaijan, told sources familiar with the situation.
The Pelosi trip accompanied by Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) is scheduled after the G-7 summit. Co-Chair of the Armenian Assembly of America Anthony Barsamian commented on the plans of the Speaker of the Parliament. He noted the significance of such a visit, as it will «shine a light on a country crossing an international border in violation of international law«.
