Vladimir Putin announced his intention to provide developing countries with fertilizers at a meeting of the SCO member states heads.
«The day before yesterday, I also informed Mr. Guterres (UN Secretary General — ed.) that 300,000 tons of Russian fertilizers have accumulated in the seaports of the EU. We are ready to give it to developing countries for free» Putin said.
He also noted that the Russian Federation welcomes the decision of the European Commission to lift sanctions on Russian fertilizers, but this issue has pitfalls.
«It turns out that these sanctions, in accordance with the explanation of the European Commission of September 10 this year, are lifted only for EU member states. So only they can purchase our fertilizers. But what about the developing, poorest countries in the world?» Putin said.
The Russian President hopes that Western countries will stop behave selfishly.
