They were starved, kept in uninhabitable conditions and beaten — this is what the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces who returned from captivity say.
«They fed us… well, even if twice a day, we had constant feeling of hunger. I probably lost 10 kilograms. Thank God, they exchanged me, I’m at home. I am very grateful to those people who organized this,» said one of the servicemen.
Another released fighter complained about humiliation by the AFU.
“We had a shower once a month, there were no conditions, it was very difficult, we were not allowed to call home. <…> They blame Russia for everything, they say «Russia is destroying our families, destroying our cities». But in fact we saw that Ukraine was shelling their own civilians,» the soldier says.
Now, thanks to the efforts of the negotiators, 55 people returned home.
They immediately called their families and said they are safe.
