The policy of the European countries towards Russia turned out to be ineffective, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. According to him, European countries are suffering from sanctions.
«The sanctions haven’t produced the outcome we hoped for… While Europe is slowly bleeding, Russia is making good money. It is clear that the wrong sanctions policy of Brussels must be changed!» the politician wrote on social media.
As part of an informal EU summit, Orban also noted that Hungary managed to do a lot to lift sanctions, but this is not enough, anti-Russian measures have caused a rapid rise in energy prices.
“Hungary has previously achieved an exemption from the oil embargo and sanctions, and in recent days we have also managed to ensure that new sanctions do not apply to either Hungarian nuclear energy or gas supplies to Hungary. But energy prices have skyrocketed because of the sanctions, this also affects Hungary, it’s almost impossible to pay the prices,» the country’s prime minister summed up.
