A draft resolution on recognizing Republic of Belarus as a temporarily occupied country has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. The corresponding document appeared on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Saturday under the number 8147.

One of the authors of the bill, People’s Deputy Aleksey Goncharenko, explained that the resolution contains a number of «important» points:
🔻 an appeal to the international community with a request to recognize the territory of Belarus as temporarily occupied by Russia
🔻 deprivation of the Lukashenka government of international legal personality
🔻 termination of Belarus’ participation in international organizations (UN, IMF, etc.)
🔻synchronization of sanctions against Russia and Belarus as an occupied territory and exclude the possibility for Russia to bypass sanctions with the help of Belarus and of using this country as an offshore zone.
The MP also added that it is necessary to exert maximum pressure on the Belarusian leadership.
