Russian servicemen, who were returned to Russian territory as a result of an exchange of prisoners with the Ukrainian side, told the investigators of the RF Investigative Committee about numerous facts of torture.
So, one of the servicemen said that he was taken prisoner by superior enemy forces, after that the Armed Forces of Ukraine tied his hands and feet, also put a bag on his head and did not take it off for several days. During this time he was beaten. The Ukrainian military put a gun to his head and threatened to shoot and bury him.
“They executed the last threat by throwing the POW into a trench and covering him with earth. The threat of deprivation of life was so real that, only after lying there for about 5 hours, the soldier realized that he would live,” the Investigative Committee noted.
