Former Republican member of the Virginia State Senate, Richard Black, in an interview with RIA News, said that recognition of referendums and new territories of the Russian Federation is very possible in the future.
«I think it will politically advance Russian interests… The new regions won’t be immediately recognized by most of the world… but eventually it will happen,» Black said.
The politician noted that such procedures are always delayed, and «only a small number of closest allies» recognize new regions right now. The ex-senator also doubted that Ukraine would be able to return these territories back.
