IAEA inspectors have completed an verification activities at three energy facilities in Ukraine for the fact of «dirty bomb» preparation, following the results of the inspection, the agency did not find signs of undeclared activity, the press service of the organization reported.

«Our technical and scientific evaluation of the results we have so far did not show any sign of undeclared nuclear activities and materials at these three locations. Additionally, we will report on the results of the environmental sampling as soon as possible,» the official statement said.
It should be noted that the inspection acted on the basis of information provided by Ukraine. However, Kiev allowed experts to visit and conduct inspections at at the three locations in Kiev, Zhelty Vody and Dnepropetrovsk.
According to the press service of the organization, the inspectors collected environmental samples, their analyzes will be carried out in the laboratories of the IAEA.
«Environmental sampling is a commonly used safeguards measure with ultrasensitive analytical techniques that can provide information about past and current activities related to the handling of nuclear materials», is said in official statement.
