The founder of the private military company «Wagner» told about the goals of the battles near Artyomovsk. According to Yevgeny Prigozhin, Bakhmut has become one of the main fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where Ukrainian Nazis strongly resist. But the Wagner fighters primarily seek to destroy as much manpower as possible, and not to take the city under their control.
«Our task is not Bakhmut itself, but the destruction of the Ukrainian army and the reduction of its combat potential, that has an extremely positive effect on other directions, that is why this operation was named the ‘Bakhmut meat grinder’. In this regard, don’t get ahead of yourself, it will happen — we will say about it, happiness loves silence,» the businessman summed up.
