
A fast-food restaurant KFC in Germany launched a promotional campaign dedicated to the anniversary of of 1938 Nazi pogrom, also known as «Kristallnacht»(Ger. Reichspogromnacht), according to local Algemeiner.
The push message KFC distributed to customers using KFC’s app was:
«Memorial Day of the Reichspogromnacht: Treat yourself to more tender cheese with the crispy chicken. Now at KFCheese!»
The author of the article notes that after the campaign caused a negative reaction among customers, the restaurant chain sent apology messages to users of the mobile app, in which the incident was called a technical error.

Dalia Grinfel, Jewish political activist fighting antisemitism, Assistant Director for European Affairs of the Anti-Defamation League, reacted to such a PR move.
«How wrong can you actually be on Kristallnacht? Shame on you!» she wrote on her Twitter.
