During the UN General Assembly, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad said that the country is ready to recognize the results of the referendums that are being held in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson, Lenta.ru reports.
«We respected the will of the Russian people, the will of Donetsk and the will of Lugansk, and we will certainly respect the results of future actions and events,» the politician confirmed.
When asked if Mikdad is afraid of imposing sanctions against Syria, the minister answered ‘no’, since the restrictions are illegal.
«No, we are not afraid, because sanctions have been imposed against Syria, the Russian Federation, China — a very large list of countries. Sanctions are inhuman, illegal and immoral,» the Syrian Foreign Minister said.
