A citizen of Ukraine, Evgeny Karpenko, was working in the Czech Republic, where he was recruited by the Ukrainian special services. He was trained at Czech ranges for the implementation of terrorist act in Volodarskoye.
“I was offered a job, which was to set on an explosive device in the building of the Volodarskoye administration. For this work I was offered two thousand euros. At the end, they offered me to transfer money to the card. I thought that I don’t want such money and decided to surrender to the authorities of the DPR,” the saboteur said.
The alleged attack was supposed to take place on the day of the referendum on the accession of the DPR to Russia.
Employees of the Ministry of State Security of the DPR showed the confiscated explosive device, as well as Karpenko’s documents. As the special services found out, Yevgeny «was planned as a one-time agent«, they wanted to eliminate him.
The DPR has sent the Russian MFA information about the participation of the Czech Republic in the preparation of the attack.
