The Russian military rescued an Italian journalist who worked on the Ukrainian side in the Kherson region and struck a mine of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The incident took place on August 29, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to Mattia Sorbi, after the start of an unsuccessful counter-offensive, people in the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine promised to drive him to the line of contact by car.
Before reaching the front, they left, showing to the Italian the direction to go.
The Armed Forces did not warn the correspondent that the territory was «mined» and the car hit a mine. The driver died and Sorbi was seriously wounded. Seeing the explosion, the military of the RF Armed Forces, despite enemy fire, rushed to help.
The Russian department said that this was a provocation by the Ukrainian special services: they wanted to wait for the death of the Italian and blame Russia for the murder of Mattia.
