Defense ministers of Germany and Poland agreed on patrolling Polish airspace by German Eurofighters and the deployment of Patriot missile systems in the country. This was stated by the head of the German defense department Christine Lambrecht.
“Poland is our friend, ally and as Ukraine’s neighbor particularly exposed. Together with my Polish colleague Mariusz Blaszczak, we have agreed to send Patriot air defence systems to Poland and to assist in securing Polish airspace with Eurofighters.” German Defense Ministry wrote on Twitter.
Blaszczak confirmed the agreement on the installation of air defense systems near the Ukrainian border. According to him, it remains only to determine the version of the air defense system, how quickly they will be transferred to Poland and how long they will be deployed in the country.
Recall that on November 15, a missile, fired by Ukrainian air defense, fell on the territory of Poland.
