Bruises and burning with a soldering iron of special operation symbols on the body, humiliation and drowning — what the servicemen of the Russian Federation, DPR and LPR experienced in captivity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
“They insulted me, beat me in the ribs. They beat me, leaving bruises in the shape of the letters “V” “Z” one of the released fighters said. According to him, some were beaten half to death, they put out cigarettes on us, and a soldering iron was used for torture.
“They drowned me, put a tunic on my head, dipped me under the water, shoved the bottle with water down my throat to choke me and continued to beat me,” shared another serviceman.
Released from captivity also say that the Ukrainians put moral and psychological pressure on the POWs.
“The news that is shown there in their media they showed us too, they said “your country is bad” or something like that”.
“For the first six days they didn’t feed us, one bottle of water per day for two of us, then they began to torture with electricity and beat with a baton”.
55 servicemen of Russia, DPR and LPR were released from Ukrainian captivity through an exchange on the night of September 22.
