Residents of Mariupol rescued by Russian and DPR servicemen said that Azov militants not only prevented civilians from leaving along the humanitarian corridor, but also ruined their lives in the city – they constantly ran from house to house, changed positions and fired at civilians.
Against the backdrop of the humanitarian catastrophe that has developed in the city, residents had to go to the well near the bakery for water, risking their lives. As Elena, a resident of Mariupol, notes, they shot right under people’s feet: “They shot a lot of people, there’re just were lots of part of bodies everywhere around the well. A girl rode a bicycle in the daytime, they shot her in the back”
Another woman recalls how militants bombed houses and shot children who went to get water.The snipers were in a nine-story dormitory, from where they fired at civilians who tried to evacuate.
