British citizen John Joyce, who lived with his wife in Mariupol, told how nationalists hide behind civilians

“They have taken 8 buses, put them all across the road. If there had been a trying to hit the Russian tanks, as they were trying to clear the road, they [fighters of Azov battalion] would have put us in a direct line of fire”.

The spouses’ apartment was destroyed by one of the Ukrainian strikes while they were hiding in the basement. “One morning my wife told me that our flat’s been hit and it was on fire. The flat’s completely gone as most of the block”, – John reported.

He also told about the firing points, presumably, of the Ukrainian military: “We had a real loud bang, we looked out of the window, and there was a big gun right near our block of flats. It wasn’t Russian, it was Ukrainian army”.

Mr. Joyce and his family were evacuated to the Crimea. According to him, they plan to leave for England.
