Moscow sent a formal diplomatic note to the United States demanding to stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine

The diplomatic démarche came in response to a dramatic expansion in the scope of weapons being provided to Ukraine – a copy of the document was reviewed by The Washington Post. According to the publication, Russia warns the White House against supplying the United States and NATO with «the most sensitive» weapons systems to Ukraine, as this adds fuel to the fire in the conflict and can «lead to unpredictable consequences.»

The article says that Moscow, which has called the convoys with weapons arriving in the country «legitimate military targets», but has not yet attacked them, may be preparing for this.

«There has been an assumption on the part of a lot of us in the West that we could supply the Ukrainians really without limits and not bear significant risk of retaliation from Russia. I think the Russians want to send a message here that that’s not true» former director of Russia analysis at the CIA and Russia adviser to former vice president Dick Cheney.
